I was raised the daughter of a preacher in the cult of the United Pentecostal Church.  It was an oppressed and repressed environment that never felt right.  The experience shaped my formative years leaving me ill-equipped for life in the real world, but life in the real world happened anyway.  Like everyone, I have had some successes and some failures.  The stories I share here are my own, for no purpose other than to make sense of it all in the end.

Blog posts are written chronologically, so start with “Loose Demons” to get the whole picture.

  1. I really enjoyed many of your stories. I know you put a comical touch in many of them although I know and understand how difficult it must of been and it might still be. My dad is a pastor for the upci. I grew up in this caos until the age of 23. My wife grew up in the apostolic movement. So she also had her share. It’s hard. Im an adult, with a beautiful wife, kids, job, a life to live and it’s like my brain is still in automode after so many years. sometimes without noticing i find myself humming ridiculous old church songs and when in think of the lyrics is unbelievable even the kind of things those songs were about. Anyways… take care and good luck to you and your family
